A damp patch is rarely where the leak is
Water travels along joists, pipes and plaster before it shows itself. The stain tells you where it came out, not where it came from — which is why opening up under the stain so often finds nothing.

Check your meter before you call
Turn every tap off, then watch the water meter for ten minutes. If it is still counting, something is leaking on your side of it. Tell us that when you call and it narrows things down immediately.

How much does leak detection cost?
Call the booking line and describe what you are seeing. You get a price for the investigation before it is booked, and a separate price for any repair once we know what is wrong.
My water bill has jumped but I cannot see a leak. Can you help?
Yes — that is one of the commonest reasons people call. An unexplained rise in usage usually means a leak on the supply side, and it can be traced without excavation.
Can you repair it as well as find it?
Yes. We locate the leak and carry out the repair, so you are not arranging a second trade to follow us.
